English Second Language (ESL)

The concept of providing for the ESL rider is not new at Giddy Up Pony Camp. Riders from France, Thailand and Japan have registered for fun filled camps in the past. They have joined young riders from PEI, Connecticut, Quebec and New Brunswick making friends for life.

ESL riders from overseas or out of the country must ensure that they have proper medical coverage before coming to Canada and bring all documentation with them.

ESL riders will only need money for personal items, shopping and meals while on tour.

For the ESL camper Giddy Up Pony Camp provides:

• Total immersion.
• Two hours daily of ESL lessons Mon - Fri.
• Weekend guided tours to places like Anne of Green Gables, Ripley's Believe It Or Not, The Dunes Gallery, Cavendish, Confederation Center of the Arts, Charlottetown walking tour, seal cruises and of course many shopping opportunities.
• Picnics at the beach.
• Tickets to see the play Anne of Green Gables and/or one other feature theater presentation.
• Evening cooking class.
• Airport pick up and drop off.

Audrey Currie who teaches the ESL lessons is an award winning teacher with more than thirty years of teaching experience and is a qualified ESL teacher. Each student will be assessed and lessons will be planned for their individual academic needs.
